GG100WG

Thinking Day On The Air will be held on Sat 20 / Sun 21 Feb to celebrate 100 yrs of Girl Guiding.

A group of local Hams will be operating a station, callsign GG100WG to enable Guides and Brownies to communicate with other Guides and Brownies around the world. Info is also available on QRZ.com.

We will be operating on 80m to 10m, 2m, and 70cm in modes SSB, FM, and DATA (PSK31, RTTY).

We expect to have three stations on the air at any one time depending on propagation, 80/40m  -  20/15/10m  -  2m/70cm.

QSL cards will be via bearu, direct and eQSL

QSL managers G0THF, G8CGZ.

We look forward to seeing many Guides, Brownies and their friends, and not forgetting the Leaders and Helpers.

GOLF BRAVO 100 WINGERWORTH GUIDES

The weekend was well attended by a large numbers of Girl Guides, Scouts, and Brownes.

Local Radio Hams started to setup the stations and antennas at 07:30.

We managed to operate HF 80/40/30/20 and on VHF 2m so many people were able to pass messages to stations around the world.

76 stations were contacted (worked) during the weekend.

Two Amateurs stayed overnight to keep an eye on the equipment.

What a surprise when we woke at 07:00 on Sunday morning.

European Map showing contacts, mostly in the UK, but our furthest contact was Russia, 2000 miles from Wingerworth.
